In gebührender Hochachtung zeichnet

young congregations and schools, the attendance at our institution can be called roughly normal and satisfactory in comparison with that of our whole Synod; and we have the well-founded hope that it will rise significantly further in the coming years. We are currently teaching 18 students in the three lower classes; and since we will again have a Tertia starting this fall, which we lack this school year, we may, with a moderately favorable intake into the Sexta, count on 25 students. We therefore have every reason to acknowledge the Lord's blessing gratefully and to look to the future in full trust in the grace of God.
As for the needs of our institution, so far as the Honorable General Synod is concerned in the matter, we do have several, though only small, requests to bring forward.
1. Because of a lack of space in our institution's building, and also for other reasons, we found ourselves compelled to rent housing for our director close by the institution. We ask that the Honorable General Synod approve this step, which we took out of necessity and after careful consideration, and instruct its treasurer to pay out the cost of the rent, amounting to $25.00 per month, beginning with January 1, 1911.
2. We recommend and ask that Professor Jonas's salary be raised to $1000.00 per year plus free housing, since it is not possible for him and his family to get by on the previous salary of $65.00 per month.
3. When our director Brohm moved from Detroit to our institution, the General Treasurer believed himself not authorized, without a specific resolution of the Synod, to pay out the moving costs amounting to $293.15. We therefore found ourselves compelled to borrow the said sum, and now ask that this sum be reimbursed from the General Synod Treasury, since moving costs surely must be counted, along with the salaries of the professors, among the obligations the Honorable General Synod has undertaken.
4. Finally, we would like to permit ourselves the modest inquiry whether it might not be fitting to express the Synod's thanks to teacher H. G. Röcker for his selfless service in giving singing instruction, and perhaps also to make that thanks concrete in the future through a small honorarium.
As we now commend our institution to the faithful love and care of the whole Synod, we ask the God of all grace that he would continue to further the work of our hands among us, to the honor of his name and the true welfare of his kingdom.
With due respect, signed
