13. Delegatenſynode von Miſſouri, Ohio u. a. St. 1911. 187
10. Bitte Herrn J. H. Gerbers.
möchten in ihrer Mitte etwa folgende Ordnung einführen:

13th Delegate Synod of Missouri, Ohio, and Other States, 1911. 187
7. Protest from Concord, Wis.
A congregation protested against officers of the Wisconsin
District of our Synod.
Resolved, that this protest does not belong before the forum of
the General Synod at all, but concerns, in the first instance — if it
should be taken up at all — the Wisconsin District.
8. Appeal of Mr. Gotthold Kühnert.
Resolved, to refer Mr. Gotthold Kühnert of Altenburg, Mo., to
his district, since the district has not yet acted in the matter.
9. Appeal of Mr. Gotthilf Schilling.
Resolved, to refer Mr. Gotthilf Schilling of Wittenberg, Mo., in
whose case the district has likewise not yet acted, to that district
as well.
10. Request of Mr. J. H. Gerber.
Committee No. 16f submitted the following report: "Regarding
the request of Mr. Jürgen Gerber of Woodburn, Ind., that his case
be reopened by a committee to be elected by the Synod, we take
the liberty of recommending that the request not be granted, since
he has asked the congregation in question for forgiveness for
everything he sinned against it, the congregation has granted his
request for forgiveness and lifted the ban, and he is able to partake
of the Lord's Table; the matter is thus settled."
Resolved, to adopt this committee report.
11. Functions of the Committee of Trust [Vertrauenskomitee].
(Cf. the 1908 report.)
Among the printed materials submitted there was a memorial
[Eingabe] (p. 123) expressing the wish that a Reverend Synod state
what the powers of a Committee of Trust should be. A congregation
had also addressed an inquiry to the Synod that likewise concerned
the Committee of Trust.
Committee No. 16g recommended to the Synod the following
declarations, to which the Synod gave its assent:
"The General Synod has not established any Committee of
Trust, but has only expressed the wish that the individual
districts introduce roughly the following arrangement among
themselves:
"In cases where someone wishes to appeal from the decision of
the District President to the district synod, a Committee of
Trust shall be jointly established, in such a way, for example,
that the District President appoints one member, the appellant
the second, and these two the third member of the Committee
of Trust.
(Note. The Synod declined to use the term "arbitration court"
[Schiedsgericht] in connection with this arrangement, as well as the idea
