ihre andern Anſtalten;

2. daß ſolche übernahme vom 1. Juni 1911 an datiere;

der Anſtalt während des letzten Trienniums;

nehmen oder nicht;

5. die bisherige Einrichtung eines geſchäftlichen Kurſus (Business
Department) und des gemeinſchaftlichen Unterrichts (Coeducation) vor⸗
läufig noch weiter beſtehen zu laſſen;

berichte;

der Synode waren bereits $7500.00 zugeſagt);

vorkommende Notfälle in allen ihren Anſtalten Vorkehrungen ge⸗
troffen habe);

13th Delegate Synod of Missouri, Ohio, and Other States, 1911. 75

has a good future. The institution covers a large territory. It
particularly benefits the congregations in Kansas, Colorado,
Oklahoma, Texas, and Nebraska. The institution is located in an area
with a healthy climate, in a pleasant little town of about 8,000
inhabitants.

May the faithful and merciful God, who began the good work at
Winfield and has preserved and visibly blessed it until now, grant
the Reverend Synod wisdom and strength to shape this institution so
that it may, the longer the more, prove a blessing to the kingdom of
God! —

Resolved:

1. that the General Synod grant the request of the Kansas District
and provide for the institution at Winfield in the same way as for
its other institutions;

2. that such takeover be dated from June 1, 1911;

3. to express to the Kansas District the General Synod's heartfelt
thanks for its loving and self-sacrificing care of the institution
during the past triennium;

4. to make a supplementary appropriation for the sum of $983.06
already spent, and that it be left to the General Board of Oversight
whether or not to draw from the synodical treasury the sum — now
still $918.00 — authorized at the time for the necessary heating
installation;

5. to let the existing arrangement of a Business Department and
coeducation continue for the present;

6. that the board of oversight of the institution, however, report
again on these arrangements at the next meeting of the delegate
synod;

7. to authorize the sum of $15,000.00 for the desired new building
(the brethren in Kansas will provide the further funds needed to
erect a suitable building; by the time of the synod, $7,500.00 had
already been pledged);

8. to decline the board of oversight's request for a sixth teacher
(it was officially noted that the General Synod has indeed made
provision for emergencies arising at all its institutions);

9. to grant this institution as well the usual appropriation of
$100.00 for the library and the natural-history cabinet.

Concordia Gymnasium at New Orleans, La.

The board of oversight of this institution, which still belongs to
the Southern District, had submitted the following report:

Mindful of the kind goodwill that our Concordia College at New
Orleans, La., has so far enjoyed on the part of the Reverend Synod, we
turn to you once again this time with confidence for further support,
and once more ask for an annual appropriation of $1,500.00. This
request is sufficiently justified by the fact that we
