6. Proteſt des Ehrw. Präſes F. M. Krauß.

Komitee No. 16e reichte über dieſe Angelegenheit das folgende
Gutachten ein:

Wir empfehlen der Synode, den Proteſt des Herrn Präſes Krauß
von der Ehrw. Michiganſynode gegen die von ſeiten des Michigan⸗
Diſtrikts unſerer Synode geſchehene Aufnahme der Paſtoren E. Mayer
in Kalamazoo, Mich., Chr.
wollten.“

Dieſer Komiteebericht wurde angenommen.

186 Proceedings of the 28th General or

Resolved, to declare the matter with the Wisconsin Synod thereby
closed.

Resolved, that the aforementioned committee continue to exist
(see the report of 1908) and serve the congregation in Cincinnati,
should it so request.

Note. Since then the matter has been brought to a conclusion in a
manner pleasing to God, and the fraternal relationship between the
congregation and the Synod has been restored. (See Der Lutheraner
67, p. 293.)

5. Appeal of P. H. J. Fuhrmann.

The Synod declined to render a definitive decision on the case
already at this convention.

Pastors C. C. Schmidt, H. B. Hemmeter, and H. Speckhard, along
with Messrs. Georg Leßmann of Chicago and Karl Seltz of Waconia,
Minn., were appointed as a committee to act in this matter. This
committee is to determine whether the Wisconsin District has
already fully concluded this matter; to establish what should be
demanded of Pastor Fuhrmann regarding his public defamations;
and, if the committee then still finds it advisable, to pursue the
matter further, investigate it, if necessary on site as well, and
decide the matter in the name of the Synod.

Resolved, that all documents relating to the matter of Pastor
Fuhrmann be handed over to this committee.

6. Protest of the Reverend President F. M. Krauß.

Committee No. 16e submitted the following opinion on this
matter:

"We recommend to the Synod that it reject as unfounded the
protest of Mr. President Krauß of the Reverend Michigan Synod
against the reception, by the Michigan District of our Synod, of
Pastors E. Mayer in Kalamazoo, Mich., Chr. Heidenreich in
Marshall, Mich., and H. Grimm in Albion, Mich. In our conviction,
the members of the Michigan District did not — as the protest
claims — act imprudently, since the facts were well known to
them and they were, above all, aware that nothing stood against
the doctrine and life of those received. Nor did they — as the
protest further asserts — act unbrotherly, since the Michigan
Synod was at the time of the reception in the process of
dissolving, and it therefore stood within the Christian liberty of
the individual congregations whether to enter the new
association or to join another orthodox synod."

This committee report was adopted.
