node an.
mener Paſſus zu Protokoll gegeben: „Da Herr P. A. v. Schlich⸗
v. Schlichten sen. dies Aergerniß abthut, ehe ſich unſere Synode mit
ihm in Verhandlungen einläßt.“

ſchuldigungen gegen Paſtor und Gemeinde dieſe Jahre lang be⸗
unruhigte.

164 Proceedings of the 26th General or

Note: This second part of the committee report, likewise signed by all its members, was likewise followed, once it had been read aloud, by extended exchanges within the Synod. One member of the Synod further submitted for the record the following passage, supplementing the above statement of the committee, which the Synod adopted: "Since Mr. Pastor A. v. Schlichten Sr. has publicly insulted, mocked, and slandered our Synod, and particularly the Synod of the Central District, and in doing so has made use of a publication filled with abuse of the Missouri Synod, it appears indispensable that Mr. Pastor A. v. Schlichten Sr. remove this offense before our Synod enters into negotiations with him."

Resolved, that this second part of the committee's report likewise be adopted by the Synod.

2.

"Mr. H. Stüver of Indianapolis brings before the Synod a complaint against Pastor Seuel and his congregation. However, the President of the Central District has not yet acted in this matter. This matter is therefore to be referred to the District, respectively to its President."

3.

"Mr. M. Orlowski of Leavenworth, Kans., appeals to the Delegate Synod against a decision of the Kansas District. The minutes show that the appellant repeatedly brought up again a matter that had been settled several times, and for years disturbed the pastor and congregation with unjustified accusations. The congregation dealt with the man with great patience, but finally excluded him from the congregation as a disturber of the peace. The Kansas District has upheld this exclusion as proper, and the judgment appears entirely justified."

4.

"A pastor had given grave offense and was thereby compelled to lay down his office. Several years later, without any involvement of synodical officers, he was called to another district and installed there with the consent of the President, to whom no protest had come. He now serves a congregation in a third district. A protest against this man's remaining in office is before the Synod.

"The offense given in this case is, admittedly, of a kind that, if it were known, would make his remaining in
