Springs. Der Parochialbericht unſers Miſſionars R. Kretzmann

98 Proceedings of the 26th General or

"Our treasurer's cash book, with all the necessary vouchers, will be submitted to the Reverend Synod for inspection. It should be noted that from some Districts of the Synod almost no contributions flow in for the Jewish mission.

"Since the Jewish missionary will be present at the Synod's convention, the commission asks that he be given the opportunity to speak for himself about his work. The commission further requests that our missionary be permitted to give lectures in the congregations of the Michigan District in the interest of our Jewish mission.

"But may the Lord our God be gracious to us, and establish the work of our hands for us; yes, may He establish the work of our hands. Amen." (Report of the Commission for the Jewish Mission.)

1. Resolved, that the Jewish missionary, Nath. Friedmann, be given the opportunity, if the necessary time can be found, to report orally on his activity before the assembled Synod.

2. Resolved, that the said missionary be permitted to give lectures on the Jewish mission in the churches of the congregations of the Michigan District in the near future.

3. Resolved, that a heartfelt request be directed to all the congregations of all our Districts to devote a collection now and then to the mission among Israel.

Indian Mission.

"By God's grace, the Reverend Synod has now completed a second triennium of its mission among the Indians in the state of Wisconsin, and the commission appointed to carry on this work pleasing to God herewith renders the report it owes on the labor and experiences of the last three years, as well as on the present state of this mission.

"That the labors, cares, burdens, and also the expenses for this mission have become not fewer but considerably greater in the last triennium will not surprise the Reverend Synod. But, thank God, the Lord has acknowledged this work up to this very hour and has not let it lack visible blessing. Whereas three years ago we could report only on the mission among the Stockbridge Indians, this time the Reverend Synod also has before it a report on a second mission station, founded among the Menominee Indians.

"Let us first hear the report on our first station: Red Springs. The parish report of our missionary R. Kretzmann
