11. Delegatenſynode von Miſſouri, Ohio u. a. St. 1905. 111
Juli dieſes Jahres an aufge⸗

11th Delegate Synod of Missouri, Ohio, and Other States, 1905. 111
...of a circle of congregations, and therefore a larger part of the funds raised for English mission work in our Synod does not pass through our hands at all. It is therefore our firm conviction that the arrangement of a special commission for English mission has outlived its usefulness, and we therefore renew the motion we already made three years ago, to abolish this commission entirely and to refer all English mission work partly to the District commissions of our Synod, and partly to our English sister Synod of Missouri, with which the three stations we currently support are connected. We have also made provision that these stations do not fall into embarrassment and hardship through the abolition of our commission, but are cared for a while longer, until everything is settled. The treasury for General English Mission should, however, be discontinued as of July 1 of this year, with the provision that all funds still coming in later for this treasury simply flow into the treasury of General Home Missions.
"The treasury report reads as follows:
"Balance in the treasury on June 1, 1902..................$ 413.92
"Total receipts from June 1, 1902, to June 1, 1905.. 2,905.09
"Total........$3,319.01
"Total expenditures from June 1, 1902, to June 1, 1905.... 2,620.68
"Balance in the treasury on June 1, 1905........................$ 698.33."
(Report of the Commission for English Mission.)
"St. John's College at Winfield, Kan. The Reverend Delegate Synod is already acquainted with this institution in that a petition concerning it was already before it at the last session in Milwaukee. It is here gratefully acknowledged that the Reverend Delegate Synod, at the session mentioned, designated $3,000.00 as annual support for the institutions at Conover and Winfield. Nevertheless, our English Synod found itself, two years ago, unable to continue operating both colleges, and therefore resolved to offer the Winfield institution, as the more favorable one for the German Synod, to that Synod.
"The board of trustees, as well as the committee designated by our Synod for the purpose of this transfer, would now like, in all due respect, to draw the Reverend Synod's attention to the following points.
"1. The Winfield College is a massive stone building about 100 feet long, 56 feet wide, and 60 feet high, and, together with a property of one city block (in a town
