As desirable and beneficial to the cause of the kingdom of God as the appointment of an additional worker would be, the commission, in view of the state of the treasury, does not have the courage to come before the Synod with such a request. It merely calls attention to the fact.

"But may the Lord God, in whose name the mission among the Estonians and Latvians was begun and has been carried on until now, and who has graciously acknowledged this work, continue to grant His blessing in the future to that which is meant to serve only the honor of His name and the welfare of souls dearly bought. (Report of the Commission for the Estonian and Latvian Mission.)

1. Resolved, that a subcommission for the Estonian and Latvian Mission be elected from the delegates of the Minnesota and Dakota Districts for the purpose of overseeing the western territory of said mission.

2. Resolved, that the elected subcommission, consisting of the members P. H. Meyer, Teacher J. Pipkorn, and Mr. Schröder — all residing in St. Paul, Minn. — be confirmed by the Synod.

3. Resolved, that in view of the deficit in the treasury for the Estonian and Latvian Mission, our congregations be urgently called upon to support this mission henceforth with more generous collections, failing which the continuation of this mission is called into question.

4. Resolved, that as a result of the more generous support that is to be expected, the commission be authorized to raise the meager salary of the two missionaries as needed.
