11. Delegatenſynode von Miſſouri, Ohio u. a. St. 1905. 43

1. Beſchloſſen, daß die Mehrausgabe von $1500.00 für
Reparatur am Hauptgebäude gutgeheißen werde.

(Siehe Bericht
der Delegatenſynode v. J. 1899, S. 118, 2.

„I. Das Lehrercollegium betreffend. In demſelben
April 1904 in ſein Amt eingeführt.

11th Delegate Synod of Missouri, Ohio, and Other States, 1905. 43

1. Resolved, that the additional expenditure of $1500.00 for
repairs to the main building be approved.

2. Resolved, that the request to install steam heating in the
residences of Rector Schick and Professors Zucker and Kruse, and
to connect it to the central heating system, be denied.

Note: The cost of installing steam heating in the residences of
the other professors was defrayed from the income of a bequest
belonging to the institution, for which the Board of Oversight —
since in doing so it did not act against the will of the testator —
had full right under the ruling of an earlier synod in similar cases.
(See the report of the Delegate Synod of 1899, p. 118, resolution 2,
where mention is made not only of the income but also of the
"use of the income" by the boards of oversight.)

Concordia Gymnasium at Milwaukee, Wis.

"In accordance with the instruction of the Reverend Synod, the
undersigned board hereby dutifully reports on the condition and
needs of Concordia College at Milwaukee, Wis.

"I. Concerning the teaching staff. There has been a change in it
since the last synod. Prof. G. Kröning resigned after lengthy
negotiations between himself and the board on December 3, 1903,
and was temporarily pensioned by the board. The synod will have
to decide on his further pension. The vacant professorship was
duly filled again by the election of Mr. P. C. Gänßle. He was
installed in his office on April 12, 1904. — The faculty pursues,
with conscientious fidelity and visible success, the goals set for
the institution. — Because of the large number of students, your
board has considered it necessary to hire an assistant, and this
was done with the consent of the Reverend General President.
This assistant has served the institution since January 5, 1904.
Since, however, an assistant will foreseeably be needed for at
least a number of years to come, your board takes the liberty of
leaving it to the Reverend Synod to consider whether the
interests of the institution would not be better served by the
appointment of an eighth professor than by the temporary
hiring of an assistant.
