88 Proceedings of the 26th General or
...could be provided, and your committee hopes that this will happen
again now as well.
"The paper of this mission, a special edition of the *Lutheran
Pioneer*, is gladly read by the deaf-mute. Unfortunately, only a few
readers of it have so far been found among the hearing, so that, instead
of yielding the mission an income, it has become a larger expense for
it every year. The committee would like to draw attention to this paper
here and ask for its wider circulation.

"But thanks be to God for all the blessing he has thus far placed on
the work of the deaf-mute mission, and for all the good that has
thereby been accomplished. May he, the faithful God, continue to bless
and further this work as well. May he also bless the Synod's
deliberations on this matter, so that this work, pleasing to God and
important, may continue to be carried out with joy and all faithfulness
for the salvation of many souls." (Report of the Committee for the
Deaf-Mute Mission.)
1. Resolved, that the Synod, with heartfelt thanks to God, expresses
its joy over the rich blessing that the merciful and gracious Lord has
granted the deaf-mute mission.
2. Resolved, that the Synod requests the dear congregations to
continue supporting this mission most generously with their prayers
and gifts.
3. Resolved, that the Synod strongly encourages the committee not
to grow weary in its effort to win more workers for this mission field.
4. Resolved, that all monies designated for the deaf-mute mission
shall pass through the hands of the general treasurer, and that the
members of the committee accordingly be instructed to forward
promptly to the general treasurer any monies sent directly to them.
