11th Delegate Synod of Missouri, Ohio, and Other States, 1905. 61

the congregation at Wilhelmsthal, and finally the congregation of
Serro Branco with the branch of Serro Alegre.

"1. The congregation at Rincao dos Valles. Rev. Wittrock
labors here with blessing. The congregation counts 15 voting
members, the school 32 children. The branch at Osorio counts 27
members and has meanwhile asked for a pastor of its own, since
Rev. Wittrock, because of the great distance, can preach at Osorio
only once every four weeks. This congregation, too, needs a
substantial subsidy toward the pastor's salary.

"2. The congregation in and near Alto Jacuhy, whose pastor
is Rev. Petersen. This congregation is divided into two districts;
the smaller part lives at Naometogue, a small place, the larger part
in the so-called Kronenthal. The congregation counts 71 members
and has good prospects for growth. It needs a subsidy toward the
pastor's salary of $275.00.

"3. Rev. Kern's congregation at Jaguary, 300 miles from the
congregation last named. Besides his own congregation, Rev. Kern
serves five more branches. The main congregation has 59 voting
members; in the school Rev. Kern teaches 36 children, and, like all
the other pastors, from Monday to Friday. This congregation
raises $275.00 toward the salary. It possesses a beautifully situated,
attractive church and has very good prospects as far as growth is
concerned. In the second half of April the Brazilian District held
its second synodical session in this congregation.

"4. The congregation of Toropy with the branch of Villa
Clara. Rev. Möller serves at Toropy. This congregation is an old
school congregation. It counts 44 members; the school is attended
by 37 children. The congregation needs $225.00 for the pastor's
salary.

"5. The congregation at Rincao Sao Pedro together with
the congregation at Wilhelmsthal. The latter is served by Rev.
Harder from Rincao Sao Pedro. The number of members at Rincao
Sao Pedro is 16, at Wilhelmsthal 25. The school at Rincao Sao
Pedro numbers 19 children. The congregation at Rincao Sao Pedro
holds its services in a rented, wretched space. It does possess a
church begun some years ago but still unfinished. The building has
a solid stone foundation; the walls are built up in brick, but the
roof is still lacking. The congregation resolved to make an
energetic attempt without delay to get the building under roof.
Meanwhile it has received a loan of $500.00 from the General
Church Building fund.

"6. Rev. Zanders's congregation at Serro Branco with the
branch of Serro Alegre. The former congregation counts 56, the
branch 25
