11. Delegatenſynode von Miſſouri, Ohio u. a. St. 1905. 51

11th Delegate Synod of Missouri, Ohio, and Other States, 1905. 51

"In case our institution is expanded, we propose to the Reverend
Synod that the building previously used as a residence for two
professors be converted into a service building. A sum of
$1500.00 would suffice to fit up this building fully for that
purpose. — We further ask that we be granted the construction of
two professors' residences at a cost of about $3500.00 each, and
that we be permitted to build a third residence, which we could
pay off gradually through rent.

"Finally, we would like to note that the city of St. Paul has
granted $3000.00 from its General Fund, making it possible for us
to connect our institution to the city's sewer system." (Report of
the Board of Oversight at St. Paul, Minn.)

1. Resolved, that the Progymnasium at St. Paul be expanded
into a full gymnasium and that the calling of the necessary
professors be carried out.

2. Resolved, that the sum of $1500.00 be granted for converting
a building previously used as a residence for two professors into a
service building.

3. Resolved, that the sum of $6000.00 be granted for the
construction of two professors' residences — that is, $3000.00 for
each residence.

4. Resolved, that the Board of Oversight be permitted to build a
third professor's residence as well, and to pay off its cost
gradually through rent.

5. Resolved, that the petition of a pastoral conference in South
Dakota concerning certain wishes regarding the gymnasium at St.
Paul be placed in the hands of the Board of Oversight there.

Concordia Progymnasium at Hawthorne, N. Y.

"In accordance with the resolution of the last Delegate Synod,
our Progymnasium has been expanded by the addition of the
Tertia class, and Mr. P. Martin Walker has been called as fourth
professor. In 1901—1902 we had 26 students in three classes; in
the three years since we again had a Tertia, we had 47, 51, and 51
students in four classes. The addition of the Tertia has
accordingly, as was expected, resulted in an improvement in the
institution's attendance.

"The professors at the institution have done their work to the
best of their ability with diligence and fidelity. Instruction was
disrupted only briefly, by the illness of one teacher.
