11. Delegatenſynode von Miſſouri, Ohio u. a. St. 1905. 83
„Unſer Guthaben in der Bank war:

„An ausſtehenden Noten . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 236.76

„Gegenwärtiger Vermögensbeſtand (11. Januar 1905):

„Ausſtehende Noten . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 58.97
„Summa . . . . . . . $5591.55
zahl Einwanderer willen unſere Synode dieſe Miſſion nicht be⸗
vorgelegt werde.

11th Delegate Synod of Missouri, Ohio, and Other States, 1905. 83
Our credit balance at the bank was:
On April 11, 1902 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $5203.59
In outstanding notes . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 236.76
Total . . . . . . . $5440.35
Present assets (January 11, 1905):
In the bank . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $5532.58
Outstanding notes . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 58.97
Total . . . . . . . $5591.55
"It should further be added to the financial report that in the
course of three years only $849.76 has come in as collections for this
mission. It has only been possible to cover the necessary expenses, with
the help of the interest yielded by this capital, because the late
missionary Sallmann saved up a rather considerable sum by never
taking the full salary allotted him by the Synod, and bequeathed this
saved money to the emigrant mission here. Collections received and
profits from commissions, etc., have in recent years not covered the
agent's salary and other expenses.
"We are of the opinion that, for the sake of the large number of
immigrants landing here, our Synod should not curtail this mission but
continue it as before — that it should be remembered with collections,
but should above all be supported by having tickets and steamship
passage procured through the agent. This has already been pointed out
repeatedly, but the reminder is always needed again, since experience
teaches that tickets are bought elsewhere while our agent here has to
do the work." (Report of the Emigrant Mission Committee at
Baltimore.)
1. Resolved, that all our congregations be urgently requested to
remember the emigrant mission at Baltimore, too, with collections —
indeed, this one especially.
2. Resolved, that all members of our congregations who need
steamship passage and tickets — should they intend to travel by way of
Baltimore — obtain them through our agent there, and thereby, through
the commission granted him for this, help support the emigrant
mission in Baltimore.
3. Resolved, that the amendment of the regulations, which has
become necessary in several respects, be attended to by the committee
in Baltimore and submitted to the next General Synod for confirmation.
