114 Proceedings of the 26th General or
7. Resolved, that in founding congregations at mission stations, the interest of language be taken into account in such a way that, depending on whether the German or English element predominates, the German or English language be allowed to predominate, without neglecting the church household of the other tongue on that account.
8. Resolved, that since the interests of the Reverend English Missouri Synod are affected by the last three resolutions, our Synod come to an understanding with the aforementioned Synod concerning this matter.
9. Resolved, that for the purpose of such an understanding with the Reverend English Missouri Synod, a committee be appointed by the president of our Synod and instructed, or empowered, to discuss, together with the latter, all interests of our Synod and the English Missouri Synod that come into question, and to arrange them in the best way.
10. Resolved, that the said committee declare to the Reverend English sister Synod of Missouri that our Synod cannot, indeed, take over the college at Winfield in the state of Kansas offered to it free of charge by the former, since it has no use for it, but is willing to continue supporting this institution, as an institution of the English Missouri Synod, for the time being for the following triennium — according to the findings of the committee appointed by it (the Synod) through its president; but the latter shall not exceed the sum of $3,000.00 annually, should it find that amount necessary.
11. Resolved, that the petition of the Conover Local Mission Board concerning the organization of mission work in the southeastern part of our country be referred to the Eastern District of our Synod for deliberation, or resolution.
Board of Directors, Agency, and Treasury.
"The Board of Directors of Concordia Publishing House takes the liberty herewith of rendering to the Reverend Synod a report on its activity during the last synodical term, from February 1, 1902, to February 1, 1905.
"With thanks to God we must confess this time too that He was visibly with us with His rich blessing, and that through His protecting hand we have been spared storm and fire damage and serious accidents.
