11th Delegate Synod of Missouri, Ohio, and Other States, 1905. 149

Electoral College.

By resolution of the Synod, the Electoral College, should the need for filling a vacancy arise, is to fill itself, in such a way that of the six candidates who were nominated for the election but remained over after the election was carried out, that person is to take a seat who received the next-highest number of votes when the election was conducted. — The result of the election was as follows: H. Succop, 243 votes; H. Sprengeler, 231 votes; Fr. Sievers, 228 votes; F. R. Brust, 205 votes; L. Hölter, 174 votes; A. Senne, 154 votes. — R. Biedermann, 148 votes; G. Spiegel, 131 votes; T. Stiemke, 104 votes; C. Hafner, 101 votes; J. Wefel, 92 votes; A. H. Kuntz, 85 votes.

The first six of those named, together with the supervisory board of the institution concerned as a seventh member (the supervisory board has only one collective vote), thus form the Electoral College, according to the election result.

Note: Several petitions to the Synod aimed at a change in the composition of the Electoral College, or respectively in the election of its members. But since the Synod did not consider all the reasons given for this weighty enough to warrant a change, or respectively a departure from its established practice, all petitions of the kind named were left unconsidered by the Synod — that is, the Synod did not go into their content any further.
