11th Delegate Synod of Missouri, Ohio, and Other States, 1905. 81
1. Resolved, that the election of Pastor O. H. Restin by the
committee, as well as that of Mr. Chas. E. Hauselt, be approved, or
confirmed, as the case may be.
2. Resolved, that the Synod approves, or confirms, the
committee's subsequent election of Pastor O. H. Restin as manager,
treasurer, and assistant missionary.
3. Resolved, that the branch stations in Hamburg and Bremen
continue to be maintained.
4. Resolved, that it be recalled that all those who need steamship
tickets and railway tickets, either for themselves or for others, should
obtain them through the Pilgrim House, and thereby, through the
commission granted the House for this, help support the emigrant
mission.
5. Resolved, that the amendment of the regulations, which has
become necessary in several respects, be attended to by the Mission
Committee, and that this revised set of regulations, suited to present
conditions, be submitted to the next meeting of the General Synod for
confirmation.

"In the course of the three years since the last Delegate Synod, the
work of the emigrant mission here has been carried on in the usual
way. The agent has faithfully taken in hand the immigrants landing
here, both those who were directed to him personally and others for
whom this was not the case, and has assisted them with counsel and
action, both during their stay in the local harbor and on their onward
journey into the interior of the country. He has also been ready to
serve those traveling from here to Europe by procuring steamship
tickets and railway tickets. In this regard the emigrant mission could
gain considerable advantage if all those from our circles who visit the
old homeland would turn to our agent. But he has been especially
concerned to direct immigrating fellow believers to our pastors and
congregations, so that, upon reaching the end of their journey, they
might join one of our congregations. In doing so, publications of our
Synod were distributed, particularly *Rathschläge für Einwanderer*
[Advice for Immigrants], along with calendars and periodicals. The
number of calendars distributed amounts to about 1,000 annually, and
of other publications even more. Wherever it can be done, the
newcomers are also given a serious
