Diſtrikt A unterſtützter Bruder in Diſtrikt B zieht, ſo reicht Diſtrikt A

174 Proceedings of the 29th General or
Inquiry Regarding Support.
The Synod affirmed the following rule: if a brother supported by District
A moves to District B, District A continues to furnish the necessary
support, even if the brother takes on a little official work in the new
district and finds some income there.

General Advisory School Board.
Report of the Committee.
The petition submitted by the Reverend Synod's Northwestern Teachers'
Conference is far from wishing to take away or diminish any rights that
belong to individual congregations or their pastors by God's Word or by
the synodical constitution. The congregation is and remains the owner of
its school with all the rights pertaining to it. The pastor remains the
overseer of his congregational school. What the petition intends is this:
to elevate our Synod's school system and shape it more and more into a
unified whole. This effort is all the more necessary in our time because
our parochial school system is more endangered than ever, and the outcry
of the enemies of the parochial schools — "The school system of the
Missouri Synod is going to ruin!" — sometimes finds an echo even in our
own circles. Nothing would please the devil more than to rob us of our
school system. To work against this is the purpose of this petition.
The Reverend Synod's committee therefore recommends the following for
adoption:
That a General School Board be elected during this session, whose duty it
shall be to draft a plan for how the Synod's entire school system could
best be advanced.
Adopted as a resolution.
This General Board could consist of the Reverend General President or his
deputy, one instructor each from our teachers' seminaries, one pastor, two
teachers, and one layman.
Adopted as a resolution.
It also appears desirable that every district elect a committee that
could communicate with the General Board in order to confer about the
welfare of our school system.
Adopted as a resolution.
The composition of this board was referred to the General President. He
himself shall also belong to this board.
