Heil, zeichnen
in aller Hochachtung:
J. W. Miller.
C. F. Obermeyer.
W. Dallmann. Komitee.

H. B. Hemmeter.
Chas. F. Obermeyer, Vorſitzer.
F. G. Walker.
Benjamin Boſſe.

Progymnaſium zu New Orleans, La.

62 Proceedings of the 29th General or
we can get it back, along with the simple residence standing on it, if
we make an effort soon. For this purpose about $2000.00 would be
needed, and for a further residence together with land about
$3000.00. The committee recommends these appropriations.
The institution building itself needs repair. The work in this field,
especially in its mission aspect, is of a peculiar kind. Your committee
therefore recommends to a Reverend Synod that it again appoint a
committee with the same authority this committee had, to provide for
the needs of the institution and of the mission work for a further
three years.
In the hope that God will open the door into this great field ever
wider for us, and that our work there may spread ever further, to the
honor of his name and the temporal and eternal salvation of many
souls, we sign,
in all respect:
J. W. Miller.
C. F. Obermeyer.
W. Dallmann. Committee.
B. Bosse.
H. B. Hemmeter.
The above appropriations are endorsed by the General Board of Control.
Chas. F. Obermeyer, Chairman.
F. G. Walker.
Benjamin Bosse.
Resolutions.
Resolved, to grant the sum of $2300 for the purchase of a residence
for the director.
Resolved, to grant the sums of $2000 and $3000 for two further
professors' residences.
Pro-gymnasium at New Orleans, La.
This pro-gymnasium belongs to the Southern District, which reported
the following to the General Synod:
With praise and thanks to God we may report that this work in the
South was not without blessing during the past triennium. The few,
mostly small congregations of our district have honestly made it their
concern to support their institution, so that, counting the subsidy
from the Reverend General Synod, we suffered no material want. The
debt of $600.00 still resting on the college property could be paid
off. We have also succeeded in raising the funds for necessary
repairs.
