Allgemeinen Synode erwählte Kommiſſion in Sachen P. H.
J. Fuhrmanns hiermit folgendes Reſultat:

„23. November 1911. „George Leßmann. Komitee.“

178 Proceedings of the 29th General or

take such steps as appear suitable and, if necessary, report and make
proposals to the next General Synod.

Resolved, that the General President appoint such a committee.

———

Appeals.

1. A letter from Pastor G. Gößwein of Cincinnati, O.

Resolved: Since Pastor G. Gößwein has not yet withdrawn his public
slanders against our Synod and its officers, there is no cause to revise
the resolution of the Western District concerning him.

2. Complaints of Pastor J. Fuhrmann, Fall Creek, Wis.

Resolved: Since the last Delegate Synod appointed a committee whose task
was to decide Pastor Fuhrmann's case in the name of the Synod, no new
committee should be appointed to revise that decision.

The commission of inquiry appointed in 1911 published the following
verdict in "Der Lutheraner" of December 12, 1911:

"After a thorough investigation of the whole affair, and after honest
effort to settle it in a Christian manner, the commission elected by the
Reverend General Synod hereby declares the following result in the
matter of Pastor H. J. Fuhrmann:

"1. Pastor H. J. Fuhrmann is himself to blame for the division that has
arisen in the congregation there; and since efforts at reunification
failed solely on account of his conduct, he now also bears sole blame for
the continuance of this division.

"2. Pastor Fuhrmann did initially withdraw his shameful slanders against
the Synod and its officers, but later renewed them and has persisted in
them to the end.

"3. Pastor Fuhrmann, through his dishonest conduct and his coarse
behavior, has made any further negotiations with him impossible for us.

"4. Pastor Fuhrmann is therefore, in our judgment, no longer to be
regarded as our brother.
