14. Delegatenſynode von Miſſouri, Ohio u. a. St. 1914. 45
1. zuſehen, ob eine Amendierung des charter der Anſtalt nötig iſt;
laſſen, daß der Paſſus “... provided that said Synod shall not at any
time hold real estate in this State over the value of one hundred
thousand dollars” daraus geſtrichen wird;
gien verlöre, die ſie jetzt beſitzt;

14th Delegate Synod of Missouri, Ohio, and Other States, 1914. 45
The Synod, as owner also of the college farm at Fort Wayne, hereby
declares that the $30,000 remaining from the sale of the college farm
shall benefit the institution at Fort Wayne. However, the Synod
reserves the right, under its own order, to decide in what manner this
money shall be used for the institution.
Resolved, to reject the motion for a new farm building.
Resolved, to grant up to $6500 for a new residence for the director of
the institution, this sum to be taken from the $30,000 still remaining
from the proceeds of the college farm.
The honorable board of control of the gymnasium at Fort Wayne shall
1. see whether an amendment of the institution's charter is necessary;
2. if such appears warranted, have the charter amended so that the
clause "... provided that said Synod shall not at any time hold real
estate in this State over the value of one hundred thousand dollars"
is struck from it;
3. have a new charter issued only if circumstances absolutely require
it; for it is possible that the institution might lose, under a new
charter, certain privileges it now possesses;
4. transfer all property of the institution at Fort Wayne to the
General Synod.
Resolved, that the long-serving Rector Dr. Geo. Schick, who has reached
the eighty-fourth year of his life and now stands in the fifty-ninth
year of his teaching career, be relieved of the heavy burden of the
extraordinariate and be placed in well-earned retirement, retaining,
however, the honorary membership of the faculty.
Resolved by rising: The whole Synod thanks the teacher now placed in
retirement, the dear Rector Dr. G. Schick, most heartily for his many
years of faithful service.
Resolved, that the board of the Concordia Gymnasium at Fort Wayne be
referred, regarding its request for an additional teacher, to its
existing right to employ assistant teachers.
Concordia Gymnasium at Milwaukee, Wis.
The honorable board of control submitted the following report to the
Synod:
We may begin our report by saying that, thanks to the goodness of God,
the past three years have been nothing but years of blessing. The
faculty, with the director at its head,
