14. Delegatenſynode von Miſſouri, Ohio u. a. St. 1914. 77

4. Das Pilgerhaus macht die nötigen Reiſekoſtenvorſchüſſe. Dieſe
repräſentieren oft namhafte Beträge. Kein Transportgeſchäft gewährt
Kredit.

Gliedern. Alle Glieder werden auf ſechs Jahre gewählt. Die Dienſt⸗
zeit der Paſtoren A. J. Beyer und J. C. Borth und der Herren N.
Stemmermann und A. Brummer iſt abgelaufen. Eine Ehrw. Synode

14th Delegate Synod of Missouri, Ohio, and Other States, 1914. 77

4. The Pilgrim House provides the necessary advances for travel expenses. These often represent considerable sums. No transportation company extends credit. How necessary the Pilgrim House is, then, for handling this business, and how important for prompt transportation especially when the Synod's mission treasuries are empty!

5. All extra costs for postage, printed matter, and so on, telephone charges, and rent at the auxiliary stations in Bremen and Hamburg are borne by the Pilgrim House.

6. The Pilgrim House provides the missionary in New York with free housing and saves the high cost of renting an office. It therefore remains a very good investment, quite apart from the blessing it affords travelers.

In closing, the following notices:

1. It pleased the Lord to call Mr. Jakob Morch home to blessed rest in heaven on December 24, 1913, at the age of 82. The deceased had been a member of the Commission for Emigrant Mission since its founding and served it with great faithfulness to the last. In the last six years, since physical weakness kept him from serving any longer, he was an honorary member of the Commission. We shall continue to hold his memory in honor.

2. The Commission consists of seven members, not three, as mistakenly stated in the calendar and other publications. All members are elected for six years. The terms of Pastors A. J. Beyer and J. C. Borth and of Messrs. N. Stemmermann and A. Brummer have expired. The Reverend Synod would therefore have four members of the Commission to elect anew this time. The terms of Pastor Chr. Merkel and Messrs. Chas. E. Hauselt and H. F. Reßmeyer still cover the next three years.
