14th Delegate Synod of Missouri, Ohio, and Other States, 1914. 151

visitor shall inquire about it with the pastor of such a congregation
and speak the right word, depending on what he finds.

2. On the occasion of the conferences, the visitor shall give the
members a general, friendly reminder not to forget the main treasuries;
he shall also be ready to give all necessary information.

3. During visitations of the individual congregations, he shall
inquire about contributions to the treasuries named and encourage them.

4. Each visitor shall also report annually on this part of his official
duties to the district president, so that the latter has an
opportunity, if necessary, to encourage compliance with the good order.

5. Around the time of the so-called distribution of the candidates, the
General President shall have the district presidents give him
information about the contributions and see to it that the order is
properly carried out. (See the 1905 Synodical Report, p. 138.)

By resolution of the Central District Synod of the year 1913, we take
the liberty of proposing the following additions to these "Detroit
Resolutions" for adoption:

1. All money resolved on and needed for the three named main
treasuries shall be distributed among the various districts by a board
on the occasion of the General Synod's convention, so that each
district assumes its fair share.

2. This board shall consist of the General President, the four
vice-presidents, the various district presidents, together with a
representation of lay delegates, whose number the Synod may determine.

3. Each district president is asked, with the help of his visitors, to
distribute fairly among the various visitation circuits of his district
the share assigned to his district, and to see to it, as far as lies in
his power, that the sum allotted to the district is raised during the
triennium.

These proposals are recommended to the Reverend Synod, by resolution of
the Central District Synod, by the Cleveland special conference, for
deliberation and, respectively, adoption.

Respectfully,

Paul Schwan, Chairman.
J. H. Wefel,
President of the Central District.
