Zehnten Delegatenſynode von Miſſouri, Ohio u. a. St. 1902. 125
gen Herrn John Pritzlaff in Milwaukee zugefloſſen.

Tenth Delegate Synod of Missouri, Ohio, and Other States, 1902. 125
20. Resolved, that in view of the unfavorable circumstances in which
the congregation at Denver, Colo., presently finds itself, the loan granted
to it from the Synodical treasury some years ago not yet be collected, but
that it be left with the congregation, with patient forbearance, until
further notice.
21. Resolved, that the petition of Mr. P. N. N. for the forgiveness of
his book debts, which he owes to the Concordia Publishing House, not be
granted, but be denied.
Relief Work and the Church-Building Aid Fund.
"As the General Relief Commission prepares to report to the
Reverend Synod on its activity during the past three years, it can testify,
with thanks to God, that the work of relief has taken a favorable course.
No request from the district commissions has had to be answered in the
negative for lack of money; rather, the requested subsidy could always be
made from the general treasury.
"Besides the usual sources of income, the treasury received in 1901,
once again, a legacy of $500.00 from the estate of the late Mr. John
Pritzlaff of Milwaukee. May such an example spur other well-to-do
Christians to emulation as well!
"By order of the Reverend General President, the General Relief
Commission has also been given charge of administering the moneys that
have come in for the sufferers in India. The following treasurer's report
will therefore also give an account of this.
"Three years ago several resolutions were passed (Report of 1899,
p. 123), for whose execution the General Relief Commission is
accountable to the Reverend Synod. The first resolution reads as follows:
'Resolved, that the Synod expresses the urgent wish that the relief
commissions of the individual districts, even if they receive no subsidy
from the general treasury, report on the state of their treasuries to the
General Relief Commission, in accordance with the provisions made by
the Delegate Synod in the year 1896.' This resolution, which is really
only a repetition of the one passed in 1896, again went unexecuted in the
past triennium as well. The General Relief Commission would gladly
have given the Reverend Synod a complete overview of the support given
to sick and infirm pastors and teachers, as well as to the widows and
orphans of deceased pastors and teachers; the form for this, with its
various headings, had already been prepared at the beginning of this past
triennium, but it could not be filled in, because the majority of the
district commissions sent in no
