Zehnten Delegatenſynode von Miſſouri, Ohio u. a. St. 1902. 89
an unſeren Glaubensgenoſſen ausgerichtet worden iſt.
miſſionscommiſſion zu New York.)

Tenth Delegate Synod of Missouri, Ohio, and Other States, 1902. 89
". . . Since an independent management of the mission stations in
Hamburg and Bremen, separate from the New York mission, is not
practicable under the present circumstances and indeed would not be
advisable at all; and since, further, as a result of the aforementioned
resolution of the last Delegate Synod, your Committee no longer knows
where it stands or what responsibility it still bears, and feels that the
unified management has generally been harmed, it recommends that the
above resolution be reconsidered, or rather revoked.
"Your Committee here recalls that the Pilgrim House in Bremen is not
the property of our Synod but the private property of Mr. Schmidt, and
recommends that the Reverend Synod give serious consideration to the
situation in Bremen.
". . . Further, your Committee recommends considering the acquisition
of a Pilgrim House in Hamburg.
"But thanks be to God for all the blessing that He has thus far
bestowed on the work of the Emigrant Mission, and for all the good that
has thereby been accomplished among our fellow believers. May He, the
faithful God, continue to bless and further this work. May God also
bless the Synod's deliberations on this matter, so that this work,
pleasing to God and important, may continue to be carried out with joy
and all faithfulness for the salvation of many souls." (Excerpt from the
report of the Emigrant Mission Committee at New York.)

1. Resolved, that the management of the Emigrant Mission in Bremen
and Hamburg be restored to the Emigrant Committee in New York, but
that the Synod of the Saxon Free Church be asked to assist our
Committee, as circumstances require, in the administration and
oversight of those missions.
