Tenth Delegate Synod of Missouri, Ohio, and Other States, 1902. 115
dogmatics work he began, of which only the first part has so far appeared —
*Christ's Work* — but to continue it and hand it over to be printed.
"Also, the publication of Luther's complete works is nearing
completion, since we now have the last volume, Vol. XXI, *Luther's
Correspondence*, in progress. Thus this great and splendid undertaking
will be brought to a close in the near future. Prof. Hoppe, in whose hands
the editorship of it has lain since 1885, informs us that two index volumes
are still to be added to the whole work, which will, however, take him
considerably longer.
"We have also received from Prof. Stöckhardt part of his commentary
on the biblical books, the exposition of the first twelve chapters of the
prophet Isaiah, which will be ready for distribution shortly.
"May the Lord of the Church continue, as before, to prosper the work
of our hands among us, to the honor of His name!" (Report of the Board
of Directors.)
