122 Proceedings of the 24th General, or
General Committee, while the others do not. Whether the Reverend
Delegate Synod wishes to bring about a change here, or whether things
should stay as they are, is for it to decide.
"Regarding aid to congregations that have been visited by
misfortunes, the Committee finds itself unable to report at this
time, since the reports of the committees handling such cases are not
yet complete. However, as soon as that has been done, a detailed
accounting is to be published in the 'Lutheraner,' as was already
done after the tornado visitation of 1896. This much can be made
known here: that the bank book shows a reserve fund of $1352.71."
