Neunten Delegatenſynode von Miſſouri, Ohio u. a. St. 1899. 63
Innere Miſſion (einſchließlich der Miſſion zu London,
England).
„Der HErr iſt noch und nimmer nicht
Von ſeinem Volk geſchieden,
Er bleibet ihre Zuverſicht,
Ihr Segen, Heil und Frieden;
Davon erhielten
der Minneſota⸗ und Dakota⸗Diſtrict .............. $7110.89;
der Südliche Diſtrict ............................ 8325.00;
der Nebraska⸗Diſtrict ............................ 4526.00;
der Kanſas⸗Diſtrict .............................. 3458.00;
der California⸗ und Oregon⸗Diſtrict .............. 3164.61;

Home Missions (including the Mission at London,
England).
"The Lord has never yet, and never will,
Forsaken his people,
He remains their confidence,
Their blessing, salvation, and peace;
With a mother's hands he leads
His own continually to and fro.
That is the fitting heading over the history of our Home Missions in
this past triennium as well; therefore: Give our God the glory! — To go
further into the successes of the faithful work in the individual
districts is not the business of your Commission; every district's
synodical convention is given a report on that, and the yearbook
supplies the figures; but surveying the whole, none of us can doubtless
help joining from the heart in the verse of thanks above. Though the
field on which the mission work is carried out offers ever greater
difficulties, indeed though our work becomes more and more a matter
of gleaning, still the Lord has never yet, and never will, forsaken his
people, has continually led us with a mother's hands, has been to us a
great blessing, salvation, and peace, and still is so now. To him be
honor!
"In aid from the fund for General Home Missions, the districts that
can carry on the work in their territory only in part with their own
funds could be granted $27,507.23 in the past three synodical years.
Of this received
the Minnesota and Dakota District .............. $7110.89;
the Southern District ............................ 8325.00;
the Nebraska District ............................ 4526.00;
the Kansas District .............................. 3458.00;
the California and Oregon District .............. 3164.61;
the Canada District .............................. 100.00.
In addition $357.41 was returned to the Southern District and
$465.32 to the Nebraska District. That was the collection of these
districts, gathered on the occasion of the Synod's jubilee celebration.
In accordance with the resolution of the 1896 Delegate Synod, several
districts have moreover sent in their congregations' jubilee gift from
that celebration for General Home Missions. If we further count the
$1352.31 in aid granted to the Mission at London, England, toward the
main sum given above, the total expenditure of the fund for General
Home Missions works out to $28,859.54.
"Your Commission considers it its duty to note the following as well:
"1. The funds available fell far short of satisfying the petitioners.
To be sure, recent years have brought so-called 'hard times'; business
conditions were depressed, and work for diligent
