80 Verhandlungen der 19ten Allgemeinen oder
Ermeſſen der drei Diſtricte, unter deren Obhut es ſich befindet, anheimſtellt;
Ferien in unſeren Lehranſtalten.

80 Proceedings of the 19th General [Synod], or
leave it to the judgment of the three districts under whose care it is
placed; and that, should those three districts resolve to expand the
Pro-Gymnasium at Milwaukee into a full one, the Synod would welcome
that resolution with joy.
Petition of the Student Body at Springfield.
The same presented, "in a modest manner," some wishes concerning
the emergency buildings at Springfield to the Synod. But since this
petition contained "nothing essentially new" and "all the points named
in it had already been taken under consideration by the Synod," the
Synod did not pursue it further. It was remarked, however, that "in
view of the circumstance that the need for the Springfield seminarians
is truly quite acute," one ought not be sparing with the emergency
building granted for Springfield.
Vacations at Our Educational Institutions.
Resolved, that at all our educational institutions the vacation shall
henceforth begin on the last Wednesday of June and end on the last
Wednesday of August (both dates inclusive).
Second Examination Commission.
Resolved, that alongside the existing Examination Commission,
consisting of the president of the theoretical seminary (at St. Louis)
and the president of the district concerned (the Western District), a
second Examination Commission be appointed, consisting of the
president of the practical seminary (at Springfield) and the president
of the district concerned (the Illinois District), to which latter
Commission all those out-of-state examination candidates may apply who
have obtained a more practical education.
Duty of the District Presidents.
Resolved, that, as it is the duty of the presidents of the individual
district synods, the names of those pastors who come to us from foreign
synods not recognized by us as orthodox and who seek admission into
our synodical body be published in the *Lutheraner* [the Synod's
German-language periodical] before they are received, ordained, or
installed, it
