Hochachtungsvoll
A. C. Burgdorf.
L. Jung.
J. F. Wm. Tepe.

mitted account of Mr. J. Umbach, treasurer of the Negro Mission. The committee compared the account with the vouchers of Mr. Schuricht, the then treasurer of the Joint Synod of Missouri, Ohio and Other States, and with the vouchers of Mr. J. Umbach, so far as the latter had any, and found that the account agrees with those vouchers.

At the same time your committee conferred with Mr. Umbach on how the accounts for the Negro Mission are to be kept, so that the resolutions of the Hon. Synodical Conference on this point may receive due consideration.

St. Louis, Mo., September 1882.

Respectfully,
A. C. Burgdorf.

J. F. Wm. Tepe.

Since it says here: "so far as Mr. Umbach had vouchers," while the Synodical Conference expects that vouchers exist for all entries, it was further

Resolved, that this year's audit committee confer with Mr. Umbach about it and investigate the matter.

VII. Examination of Several Synodical Reports of the Synods Belonging to the Synodical Conference

These committee reports were read at the Saturday afternoon session, and the last one on Tuesday afternoon. They are as follows:

1. Report on the Synodical Report of the Illinois District of the Hon. Missouri Synod for the Year 1879.

The undersigned committee, elected at the last convention of the *Synodalkonferenz* [Synodical Conference], has, in consequence of the commission given it, gone through the synodical report of the Illinois District of the Missouri Synod for the year 1879. — As the subject of doctrinal discussion there were 7 theses on the "Certainty of the State of Grace," all of which were dealt with. The committee finds nothing in these doctrinal discussions to which it should especially draw the attention of the Synodical Conference. In the opinion of the committee the proceedings are both instructive
