öffentlich oder ſonderlich, entbinden kann.
Synodalkon⸗

„4. Wir empfehlen der Ehrw. Synodalkonferenz, die zu ihrem
Verbande gehörenden Synoden zu ermuntern, alles, was in ihren

of the duty of brotherly admonition, according to circumstances publicly or privately.
"3. Although your committee recognizes that the exercise of the duty of watching and admonishing under the existing synodical regulations is often connected with great difficulties for the individual, we cannot on that account advise that the Honorable Synodical Conference resolve the establishment of any kind of 'Censorship Committee.'
"4. We recommend to the Honorable Synodical Conference to encourage the synods belonging to its federation to do everything in their power to remove any divergences of the kind indicated and thus to counter in good time, with all earnestness in the spirit of love and peace, any danger of serious doctrinal differences, so that unity in the Spirit may be preserved among us also in the future, to the glory of God and to the welfare of his Church.
"A. H. Kuntz.
"Aug. Vollbrecht.
"L. G. Dorpat.
"A. Ackermann.
"H. B. Hemmeter."
This report called forth a lively discussion and earnest deliberation of the important matter, which led to the following resolutions:
1. The petition itself and the committee report on it are referred for printing in this year's report of the Synodical Conference.
2. On account of the importance of the matter, decision is postponed until the next convention of the Synodical Conference.
V. Examination Reports.
1. The following committees reported, naming the subject of the doctrinal discussions, that they had conscientiously examined the synodical report sent to them and had found nothing in it that would be contrary to the Word of God and the confession of the Evangelical Lutheran Church:
Michigan Synod, 1914: "Christian Education of Youth."
E. F. Härtel.
N. P. Uhlig.
Michigan Synod, 1915: "The Comfort of Justification" and "The Preservation and Government of God."
J. C. Kretzmann.
W. von Schenk.
Minnesota Synod, 1914: "How Can We Further the Good Cause of the Christian Parish School?"
Wm. Köpchen.
Wm. Schönfeld.
