The undersigned committee has, as commissioned, read and examined the report of the Venerable Minnesota Synod of the year 1883*). — The doctrinal subject presented in the report treats the doctrine of the means of grace. Appended is a paper on the question: "What is to be thought of societies which have life insurance wholly or in part as their purpose?" — According to the second report the synod treated the theme: "I believe in an everlasting life. Amen."
Your committee finds in these proceedings nothing that would be contrary to sound doctrine, but may on the contrary testify that they are glorious testimonies to the pure doctrine.
P. Brand.
K. Walz.
