ſeine großen Thaten in America. So leben Sie denn herzlichſt wohl.
Amen.

[continued: As less] decisive, yet not without weight, Pastor Brunn
finally also names the very worrisome physical condition of his faithful
helpmeet [his wife], which leaves it doubtful to him whether he would see
her again after returning from a longer journey. Finally, this faithful
man of God writes: "On April 28 we intend to celebrate our mission
festival in Steeden, so as to hold a festive celebration here too, at
least roughly at the same time as your St. Louis festival. In doing so we
shall, together with you, sing praise to the LORD for his great deeds in
America. And so, farewell most heartily. With the most heartfelt greetings
and wishes of blessing for you and your whole Synod, your truly devoted
Fr. Brunn. Steeden, March 14, 1872."
May the LORD, then, who has hitherto, against all our merit and
worthiness, always blessed us abundantly, also in these days pour out
upon us his blessing from the unexhausted fullness of his mercy, to the
glorification of his great name, and to our salvation and blessedness and
that of many souls, for the sake of Jesus Christ, our only Savior and
Advocate. Amen.
