Sihler, erbeten hat.

Public Worship Services During the Time of the Convention.
Besides on the two Sundays, public worship services were also held on
two evenings during the week, preached by the fellow pastors
[Amtsbrüder] appointed for them. Since these, however, did not hand
in to the secretary any notes on the sermons they had preached, he can
only reproduce the brief account he obtained for himself from the
local pastor [Pastor loci], Dr. Sihler.
On the 19th Sunday after Trinity, the preachers were: in the morning,
at the German Lutheran church, Pastor A. G. G. Francke, and at the
English Lutheran church, Pastor H. C. Schwan, both on the Gospel for
the day, Matthew 9:1-8; in the afternoon, at the German Lutheran
church, Pastor E. A. Brauer, and at the English Lutheran church,
Pastor C. J. A. Strasen, on the Epistle for the day, Ephesians 4:22-28.
On the 20th Sunday after Trinity, the preachers were: in the morning,
at the German Lutheran church, Pastor O. Fürbringer, on the Gospel for
the day, Matthew 22:1-14; at the English Lutheran church, Pastor J. P.
Beyer, in English; in the afternoon, at the German Lutheran church,
Pastor N. Volkert. At the two evening worship services, Pastors F.
Auch and Dr. G. M. Gotsch preached.
That the Synod opened all its daily sessions with a liturgical
service, and closed with the Lord's Prayer, has already been reported
at the beginning.
