18. Mr. Kahmeyer, formerly a student of the Fort Wayne seminary,
called by Lutherans in Carver County, Minnesota, to be their pastor and
shepherd, was ordained on August 10 of this year, on behalf of the
Vice-Präſes, by the Reverend Pastor Stubnatzy, in the latter's
congregation, assisted by the Reverend Pastor Polack, and afterward set
out on his way to his new field of labor.

19. Unfortunately, however, a former member of our Synod, Mr. J.
Seitz, until now pastor at Rothenburg, Ill., also had to be suspended from
his membership in the Synod by the presidium of the western district,
after he was convicted before the Chicago Conference of sins and given
offenses that make him, according to the divine pronouncement of 1 Tim.
3:2, unworthy of any further exercise of the holy preaching office.

G. A. Schieferdecker,
Präſes of the western district.

Addendum: Mr. Candidate Wilhelm Heinemann of Wesenberg in
Mecklenburg-Strelitz, until now a student of the seminary at Fort Wayne,
was called by the two Lutheran congregations in Chicago, and was, on
October 11 of this year, ordained and installed in his office by the
Reverend Pastor Wunder, assisted by Pastors Müller and Ahner, on behalf of
the Vice-Präſes, Pastor Bünger.

Annual Report of the Northern District of the Synod of Missouri,
Ohio, and Other States, 1857.

I. Ordinations:

1. The Reverend Pastor A. Brose, in Town Hubbard, Dodge Co., Wis.,
having passed his examination and colloquium before the Wisconsin
pastoral conference and been received, by virtue of authority granted, into
the northern synodical district by its Präſes, was ordained by the latter
in the midst of his congregation, assisted by the Reverend Pastors Geyer
and Wagner, on the Feast of the Reformation of last year.

2. Likewise Mr. Candidate Eisfeller, called to take the place of the
Reverend Pastor Dicke in Frankentrost and Frankenhilf, Mich., was, after
passing his examination in Fort Wayne, ordained at the former place and
installed at both, by the Reverend Pastor Sievers, assisted by the
Reverend Pastor Hügli, on September 22 of this year.

II. Changes of Office:

1. The congregation of the Reverend Pastor Dulitz in Milwaukee, after
his removal to the eastern district, united with the synodical
congregation of the Reverend Pastor Lochner.

2. The Reverend Pastor M. Stephan, called from Wisconsin to
Kalamazoo, Mich., was installed there in his office on October 23, 1856,
by the Reverend Pastor Richmann. Compelled to leave this field of labor,
he was called by two Lutheran congregations in and near Oshkosh,
Wisconsin, and installed by the district president on March 1, 1857
(Sunday Invocavit).

3. By this same district president, the Reverend Pastor Dicke,
formerly in Frankentrost and Frankenhilf, Mich., was installed, for the
three congregations which Pastor Stephan had formerly served in

year.
