Sohn übertragen.

Dieſe Druckerei wurde gegen Ende des Jahres 1854 mit einem Kapital
von circa 1000 Dollars, das Herr Wiebuſch dahier vorſtreckte, in Stand

...to build his kingdom. Consider that perhaps only little time is
given to us to advance the kingdom of God there. Let us not shrink back
from the difficulties, and let us be glad to be ready to sacrifice for
God's cause everything we are and have.

Your venerable Synod's most respectful,

Ferdinand Sievers,
Acting President [d. Z. Präſes] of the Mission Commission.

Fort Wayne, October 23, 1857.

The Synod had referred the above mission report, along with two
enclosures, to a committee for examination and report, and resolved,
on that committee's proposal: 1. that the Mission Commission's wish
regarding a teacher for Bethany be fulfilled as soon as possible; 2.
that missionary Clöter be given a man to take care of household and
field work; and 3. that he be supported to the utmost in his work
generally.

Professor Walther commended the important work of the mission to the
Synod, and, for the particular advancement of broader and more general
participation in it, commended the mission festivals [Miſſionsfeſte].

Pastor Sievers, too, as president of the Mission Commission, finally
asked the members of the Synod to solicit contributions and support
for the mission treasury from their congregations.

Report on the Synodical Printing House; Transferred to Mr. Wiebusch
and Son.

This printing house was put into operation toward the end of 1854
with a capital of about 1,000 dollars, which Mr. Wiebusch advanced for
it here. Since only the regular jobs — "Der Lutheraner," "Lehre und
Wehre," and the synodical reports — were originally planned for, this
capital was probably sufficient to cover them. In the course of the
first year, only these jobs were in fact required. Since then,
however, multiple additional demands have come in — such as the
Agenda, the Lutherbuch, Pastor Lindemann's arithmetic textbook, etc.,
etc., and especially the Altenburg Bible work (so far only the New
Testament), as well as the printing of the Lutheran hymnals — so that
several purchases had of necessity
