68 Proceedings of the twenty-first convention

give thy Spirit to the Word and send faithful laborers into thy harvest, that thy kingdom may come and thy name, obscured among the heathen, be hallowed!
Glory be to God on high,
And may Satan's kingdom pass away!

Amen.
In the name and by commission of the Commission for Negro Mission
Chas. F. Obermeyer, Chairman.

Since the treasurer's report of the Negro Mission lay before the convention in print, it was resolved to dispense with its reading; further resolved to accept the report of the auditing committee on the treasurer's report.

In the course of the discussion of the Commission's report the following resolutions were adopted:

Resolved, to approve the building of a dwelling for Director N. J. Bakke.

Resolved, to instruct the Commission for Negro Mission to see to it that the theological training of the Negro students take place in North Carolina.

Resolved, that the appointment of the necessary teaching staff for the institution in New Orleans, as it now is, be left to the discretion of the Commission.

Resolved, to approve a schoolhouse and a teacher for Napoleonville.

Resolved, to approve chapels for the stations Mount Pleasant and The Rocks in North Carolina.

Resolved, that the Synodical Conference [*Synodalkonferenz*] assume the amount (about $700.00) which Missionary J. C. Schmidt has undertaken to collect for the college building at Greensboro.

Resolved, to authorize the Commission to procure the necessary schoolrooms at St. Paul's station in New Orleans.

Resolved, to instruct the Commission not only to procure as soon as possible the necessary benches and teaching aids for the institution in Greensboro, N. C., but also to build a professors' dwelling there as soon as the necessary means for it are available.

III. Examination Reports.

The following committee reports on the examination of the various synodical reports were read and accepted:

The undersigned committee, on behalf of the Honorable Presidium, has conscientiously examined the report of the tenth convention of the Honorable District Synod of Michigan for the year 1905 and has found nothing in it that would be contrary to the Word of God and the confession of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. Subject of the doctrinal discussions: "How is the Church built?" H. C. F. Otte.
