1. Eine neue Kirche für Mount Zion, New Orleans, mit
einem Gebäude für eine zweiklaſſige Schule.

74 Proceedings of the fifteenth convention

benches had to be procured. The mission numbers 7 souls here and 22 Sunday-school pupils. If we want success here, we must provide a building for church and school purposes.

Since Missionary H. Meyer has now been transferred to Springfield, Candidate C. Schmidt of Springfield has been called to this field of work. He accepted our call with great joy and was already ordained and installed in his office a few weeks ago.

In conclusion, your Mission Commission permits itself to draw the attention of a venerable Synodical Conference [*Synodalconferenz*] to the most necessary needs, indispensable for the blessed continuance of our mission.

These are:

1. A new church for Mount Zion, New Orleans, with a building for a two-class school.
2. A church for the mission district of our youngest missionary in Greensborough, North Carolina, since he has so far not a single church in his whole mission field.
3. The paying off of the old debts in the mission treasury.
4. Of Missionary Bakke's proposals, as many as are feasible.

But the great God and Chief Shepherd Jesus Christ, who has so richly blessed our work among the children of Ham until now, may he also further promote the work of our hands among us, yes, the work of our hands may he promote!

In the name and by commission of the Commission

C. F. W. Sapper, Chairman.

The reading of the mission report was followed by the reading of the following treasurer's report of the Negro Mission:

Report on the Treasury of the Negro Mission
