82 Verhandlungen der fünfundzwanzigſten Verſammlung
VII.
„F. A. Kannenberg.
„John Schulze.“

82 Proceedings of the twenty-fifth convention
VII. Statistics.
In a submission the former statistician, Pastor C. Kretzmann, set forth how difficult and almost impossible it is "to obtain the necessary material for a statistic that is indeed brief and clear, but complete"; and that an incomplete statistic is, however, misleading and worthless. He asked for instructions.
The Conference resolved, for the reasons given, to drop the statistics. —
To the former statistician the thanks of the Conference were voted for his efforts. His expenses are to be reimbursed to him according to the resolution of 1912.
VIII. Treasury of the Synodical Conference.
1. The treasurer, Mr. H. A. Christiansen, had sent in the cash book. It was referred to a committee for examination, which reported as follows:
"Milwaukee, Wis., August 14, 1914.
"The undersigned committee, in accordance with the commission received, has examined the books of the treasurer and found them correct.
"F. A. Kannenberg.
"John Schulze."
2. The convention was of the opinion that there should be a balance of about $100 in the treasury of the Synodical Conference [Synodalkonferenz] to meet all needs. It was resolved, accordingly, to change the wording of one of the standing rules so that for the word "debts" [Schulden] the word "needs" [Bedürfnisse] be substituted. (See p. 88 of this report, V, 5.)
IX. Committees for the Examination of the Synodical Reports.
The President of the Synodical Conference appoints for the examination of the synodical reports the committees whose members are designated in the following list according to the name of the synodical body concerned. The committee members will receive, about June 1, 1916, one copy each of the synodical report concerned, together with an information slip and form for the report, from the secretary. The reports on the result should be sent in to the President or Secretary of the Synodical Conference before August 1, 1916.
Every report must, to be valid, be signed by both committee members.
