Lehrplan für gemiſchte Gemeindeſchulen
der Ev.⸗Luth. Miſſouriſynode.

Zuſammengeſtellt von
Lehrer H. J. H. Papke in Verbindung mit einem Komitee.
5¼×7½ Zoll.
38 Seiten mit Papierumſchlag. 15 Cts.

[Back cover]
Curriculum for Mixed Parochial Schools
of the Ev. Luth. Missouri Synod.

Compiled by
Teacher H. J. H. Papke in association with a committee.
5¼×7½ inches.
38 pages with paper cover. 15 cts.

The increased demands which the secular subjects make on parochial schools under present conditions, and the endeavor of these schools to keep, above all, their chief task, namely to instruct the children in God's Word and to bring them up according to God's Word, have long since called forth the need for such a theoretically correct and practically workable curriculum. Teacher Papke, together with a larger committee of the St. Louis Teachers' Conference and with the advice of prominent educational officials of the State, has, in our conviction, solved the difficult task very satisfactorily in the above booklet. Prof. G. Mezger has read Papke's "Lehrplan" in manuscript and has warmly recommended its printing.

The little work offers detailed statements, distributed over six school years, on religious instruction, language instruction (German and English), arithmetic, writing, singing, geography, Reformation history, United States History and Nature Study, together with some excellent concluding remarks on hygiene. An elaborated curriculum for a mixed school is appended.

Precisely because of the thoroughness in the analysis of the subject matter and the progressive distribution over the six school years, this "Lehrplan" can also render good service where the parochial schools are organized in part or wholly as graded schools.

Every teacher and every pastor whose task is the supervision or the direction of a parochial school should not fail to order this mature work.
