County Infirmary. In the County Infirmary near St. Louis the students of the seminary preach regularly to the colored inmates. About 100 different persons attend the services.
6. New York.
Yonkers, Bethany. Missionary: Wm. O. Hill. The congregation consists for the most part of former members of our mission congregation in Meherrin, Va., who have migrated north in the course of the last twenty years and have found rewarding employment as domestic servants in Yonkers, fifteen miles north of New York. Missionary Hill has labored here with blessing for three and a half years. The congregation has 46 souls, 36 communicant members and 8 voting members. 8 adults were baptized and 6 adults confirmed. The Sunday-evening service is attended on average by 35 persons (31 adults, 4 children), the weekday service by 17 adults. In proportion to its membership the small congregation has to record the largest contributions for church purposes, namely $1212.39. It has paid $320.25 to the mission treasury. Its building fund has already grown to $451.02. Services, Sunday school and weekday school are held, through the kindness of the congregation of Pastor v. Schlichten, in its "Parish House." Missionary Hill reports: "The prospect of our Lutheran Church in this field is still good, and we cherish the hope that we shall build up a flourishing congregation here. But there are other cities in the North in which we could work with just as great success; one of these northern cities is Brooklyn, with a colored population of 22,708. A missionary ought to be appointed here."

It numbers 93 souls (increase since 1912: 13), 38 communicants (increase: 3), 10 voting members (increase: 3), 69 pupils, 75 Sunday-school pupils. The average attendance at the services is 27. Besides Grace in Greensboro, Missionary Lynn also serves the stations Elon College, High Point and Winston-Salem.
Trinity near Elon College in Alamance Co., seventeen miles east of Greensboro, is served twice a month by Missionary Lynn. The services held on Sunday mornings are attended on average by 17 persons. The congregation is small (20 souls,
