Fünften Delegatenſynode von Miſſouri, Ohio u. a. St. 1887. 47
unſern Gemeindeſchulen unſere Synodalſchulbücher eingeführt würden, was
„8. Möchte das Directorium der Ehrw. Synode die Herausgabe einer
vollſtändigen Serie deutſcher Leſebücher für unſere Schulen dringend em⸗
pfehlen.“ (Bericht des Directoriums.)

Fifth Delegate Synod of Missouri, Ohio, and Other States, 1887. 47
than the previous one, the net profit has fallen behind that reported at
the last Synod by only a very small amount.
"5. The Directorate would like to point out that our book business
could be raised very considerably if our synodical schoolbooks were
introduced in all our parochial schools, which unfortunately is still not
the case in a great many of our parochial schools up to now.
"6. It is urgently to be recommended that the buildings of our
Synodical Printing House and publishing house be enlarged by a
spacious addition, since part of the new college building has already
had to be used as a warehouse, and at the bindery all outside work had
to be turned away for lack of space. The Directorate would already have
taken a step in this direction had there not been too great a shortage in
the synodical treasury.
"7. It should be reported to the Reverend Synod that the Evangelical
Lutheran Central Bible Society has made our Synod a gift worth
$17,407.73, and has handed over to the Concordia Publishing House the
stock of books, type, and plates representing this value.
"8. The Directorate would urgently recommend to the Reverend Synod
the publication of a complete series of German readers for our schools."
