mann: P. W. Gayer ? — A. D. Schürmann †; Erſatzmann: J. H.
Backhaus ?.

ganz dahinfallen.

Since most of the absent teachers had given as the reason for their
excuse that the congregations had refused them permission to travel,
the Synod felt compelled to express its disapproval with regard to
such congregations. The dear congregations should rather make it easy
for their teachers to fulfill their duty as members of the Synod as
well. If such conduct on the part of the congregations spreads
further, then the obligation of the teachers to attend the synodical
conventions must in the end simply fall away altogether.
