58 Proceedings of the eighteenth convention
The Committee for the examination of the synodical report of the Wisconsin District of the Reverend Synod of Missouri, Ohio and Other States takes the liberty of reporting to the Reverend Synodical Conference [*Synodalconferenz*] that it has examined the synodical report closely and found nothing that is against God's Word and our Lutheran Confessional Writings. J. B. Bernthal.
H. Monhardt.
After careful examination of the synodical report of the Wisconsin District of the Reverend Missouri Synod of the year 1898 the undersigned Committee reports that it has found nothing that does not agree with Scripture and the Confessions of our church.
Albert Kluge.
A. F. Siegler.
The undersigned Committee for the examination of the report of the Reverend Wisconsin Synod of the year 1897 reports hereby that it has examined the said report. It contains a thorough paper [*Referat*] on "Family Devotions" [*Hausgottesdienst*]. The presentation, drawn from Scripture and from the history of the people of God, is very instructive, edifying and popular.
B. Sievers.
F. H. Eggers.
The undersigned, commissioned to examine the synodical report of the Reverend Wisconsin Synod of the year 1898, report hereby that the topic of the doctrinal proceedings is: "The Hope of Christians." This topic is set out in three theses, of which, however, only the first thesis and the first half of the second thesis were discussed. What the synodical report communicates is set forth in a manner true to Scripture and edifying and strengthening to the hope of Christians. G. Küchle.
W. Matthes.
The undersigned Committee has read through the report on the proceedings of the English Synod of Missouri and Other States of the year 1899 and found nothing that contradicts the Confession of our church. The paper [*Referat*] contained in the report deals with Christian congregational schools. A. Schrödel.
C. Gausewitz.
Remarks.
The Committee reports on the synodical report of the Iowa District of the year 1897, of the Western District of the same year, and of the Wisconsin Synod of the year 1896 were rejected, because each was signed by only One member of the Committee. "Let every matter be established on the mouth of two or three witnesses."
