56 Proceedings of the eighteenth convention
The undersigned have examined the report of the Kansas District of the Reverend Missouri Synod of the year 1898. The report deals with "Indifferentism" on the basis of four theses. The subject is thoroughly discussed and illustrated with excellent citations, and in all respects agrees with the Word of God and the Confession.
Karl Machmüller.
A. B. Pieper.
The report of the Michigan District of the Reverend Synod of Missouri, Ohio and Other States, submitted to us for examination, was conscientiously examined and found in harmony with God's Word and the Confessional Writings of our church. Aug. C. Bendler.
H. Knuth.
The undersigned take the liberty of remarking, with regard to the synodical report of the Central District of the Reverend Synod of Missouri, Ohio and Other States of the year 1897, that they find its doctrinal content in agreement with Holy Scripture and the Confessions of our church. J. H. Brockmann.
J. Haase.
The synodical report of the year 1897 sent to the undersigned by the Minnesota and Dakota District of the Reverend Missouri Synod has been carefully examined by us. It agrees not only throughout with God's Word and the Lutheran Confession, but the subject treated in it has been set forth so thoroughly and impressively that it has found our full approval.
Theo. Jäkel.
R. Adelberg.
The undersigned take the liberty of reporting that, according to the commission received, they have examined the report of the Minnesota and Dakota District of the Reverend Missouri Synod for 1898 and found nothing that would be contrary to the teaching of Scripture and the Confessions of our church. The report contains doctrinal proceedings on the Seventh Commandment.
R. Siegler.
W. Hönecke.
Your Committee for the examination of the synodical report of the Nebraska District of the Reverend Missouri Synod of the year 1897 has only to remark that the assertion on p. 33 at the bottom: "Most worldly children are self-righteous" surely applies to all, since all suffer from this vice. C. G. Reim.
W. A. Hönecke.
