2. Beſchloſſen, daß jede Delegation zur diesjährigen Synodal⸗
conferenz aus der Mitte ihrer reſp. Synode ihre Repräſentanten in dieſer
Committee wählen ſoll. Dieſe Wahl hatte folgendes Ergebniß:

Aus der ehrw. Synode von
Illinois u. a. St.: Paſtor G. Mochel und ein Glied ſeiner Gemeinde;
Minneſota u. a. St.: Paſtor W. Streißguth und Herr R. Paar;
Miſſouri, Ohio u. a. St.: Paſtor R. Lange und Herr Lehrer Albach;
Norwegiſch⸗Lutheriſche Synode: Profeſſor F. A. Schmidt und Profeſſor
Jacobſen;
Ohio u. a. St.: Prof. W. F. Lehmann und Prof. J. Spielmaun;
Wiscdnſin u. a. St.: Paſtor Adelberg und Prof. A. Gräbner.

Lehmann.

The deliberation on the six proposals made had the following result:

As to 1, the publication of a mission paper of its own, it was recognized that if interest in missions is to be kept alive, a little paper must be published that brings mission reports. If this is not done, our other church papers will hardly prove sufficient to keep true missionary zeal alive. This little paper should appear only every four weeks and cost only 25 cents, otherwise our congregation members could not take it alongside other church papers. It is also understood that this mission paper is to appear in the German language.

The conference resolved to publish a mission paper of its own. Pastor F. Lochner was elected chief editor, and the pastors C. F. W. Sapper and J. Brockmann assistant editors. Pastor Lochner was instructed to negotiate with Pastor E. Frey, with regard to the possible transfer to the Synodical Conference of the mission paper published by him, in the interest of this body, and to bring the matter to a conclusion in agreement with the mission committee.

As to 2, the publication of English church writings for the Negroes, for which Negro missionary Pastor Döscher, who was present to the joy of the Synodical Conference, especially encouraged the assembly, the following resolutions were passed:

1. Resolved, that a committee consisting of two persons from each synod belonging to the Synodical Conference be appointed, to which the text of the English catechism is to be submitted; the publication of this catechism is not to proceed until this committee has examined and approved it. This work, however, is to go to press after three months (end of October). An editor, who must not be a member of the committee, is to furnish the translation and submit his work to the committee for examination.

2. Resolved, that each delegation to this year's Synodical Conference choose from the midst of its respective synod its representatives on this committee. This election had the following result:

From the Reverend Synod of
Illinois and Other States: Pastor G. Mochel and a member of his congregation;
Minnesota and Other States: Pastor W. Streißguth and Mr. R. Paar;
Missouri, Ohio and Other States: Pastor R. Lange and Teacher Albach;
Norwegian Lutheran Synod: Professor F. A. Schmidt and Professor Jacobsen;
Ohio and Other States: Prof. W. F. Lehmann and Prof. J. Spielmaun [sic; Spielmann];
Wisconsin and Other States: Pastor Adelberg and Prof. A. Gräbner.

3. As the executive committee of this committee there were elected by the Synodical Conference: Pastor R. Lange and Professors F. A. Schmidt and W. F. Lehmann.
