Synode von Ohio u. a. St. hat auf ihrer Verſamm⸗
lung in Wheeling den Beſchluß gefaßt:
2. Die Profeſſoren Lehmann, Loy und Frank ſollen als Glieder⸗dieſer
Committee fungiren.“
Die ehrw. Synode von Wisconſin u. a. St. hat ſeit ihrer Ver⸗
ſammlung vom Jahre 1877 in der vorliegenden Sache nichts weſentlich
Neues gethan.
Miſſouri⸗Synode in Wisconſin bereit iſt, nämlich
In Berück⸗

The Reverend Norwegian Lutheran Synod has dealt with the matter, and although no final result has been reached, a considerable majority has nevertheless declared itself for the idea of a joint seminary. A committee has also been appointed, which is to negotiate with committees of other synods on the occasion of this year's Synodical Conference.
The Reverend Synod of Ohio and Other States at its convention in Wheeling passed the resolution:
1. "As regards the establishment of a joint seminary, be it hereby resolved that, although on account of lack of funds we cannot at present take part in the building of a new institution, and although some among us are also of the opinion that the establishment of state synods should precede such a building, we nevertheless wish to strive, now as before, toward this glorious goal; therefore further
resolved, that a committee consisting of three members be appointed to negotiate on the subject with the committee set up for the same purpose by the Reverend Missouri Synod, and to report the result at our next convention.
2. Professors Lehmann, Loy and Frank shall serve as members of this committee."
The Reverend Synod of Wisconsin and Other States has, since its convention of the year 1877, done nothing essentially new in the matter at hand. Its resolution of last year concerning the formation of a state synod of Wisconsin the Synod has explained to mean that it thereby lays down the condition under which it is ready to form a state synod with the brethren of the Reverend Missouri Synod in Wisconsin, namely that such a state synod shall not again become a district of one of the general synods still existing at present, and that therefore the brethren of the Missouri Synod would first have to give up the intention of bringing about such an affiliation; but that thereby it is not to be excluded that this state synod may again unite with other such synods into larger bodies of church government. — An instruction or authorization with regard to the projected joint seminary has not been given to this year's delegation by its synod. In consideration of a letter concerning the establishment of such a seminary, from Professor Dr. Walther to the president of the Synod, a resolution was passed, the essential content of which is that the Synod believes it cannot enter further into the said letter as long as its resolution to open a seminary of its own in the fall of this year remains in force.
After a lengthy discussion, following upon the statements given, on the expediency or admissibility of further negotiations on the matter at hand by the Synodical Conference as such,
