Die Weimariſche Bibel macht zu 3 Moſ. 20, 19—21. die Bemer⸗
kung: „In dieſen drei letzten Fällen ſcheint es, Gott habe geduldet, was
zugeſetzt: „Ich der HErr will ſolche ſchändliche Vermiſchung dergeſtalt ſtra⸗

Synode von Miſſouri, Ohio u. a. St. hat auf ihrer
letzten Delegatenſynode in St. Louis folgende Beſchlüſſe gefaßt:

Miſſouri, Ohio u. a.

The Weimar Bible makes the following remark on Leviticus 20:19-21: "In these last three cases it seems that God tolerated what He did not approve, indeed testified His displeasure against it." As an explanation of the words in Leviticus 20:20, "They shall die childless," it adds: "I the Lord will punish such shameful mingling in such a way that such incestuous persons either have no children, or are not yet held honorable, or even are snatched away by an early death. Hosea 9:11, 12."

Thesis 6 was thereupon adopted, and then the paper (*Referat*) [paper read to the convention] was approved as a whole.

Business Proceedings.

I. The Matter of Forming State Synods and Establishing a Joint Seminary.

When, on the basis of a resolution to that effect, a round of inquiry was made as to what had been done in this matter in the various synods since the last convention of the Synodical Conference (*Synodalconferenz*), the delegations of the individual synods gave the following statements.

The Reverend Synod of Illinois had at the time of its second-to-last convention resolved to lay the proposals of the Synodical Conference before its congregations for discussion. This resolution was then carried out, and at the recently held convention of the Synod it turned out that all congregations with but one exception had declared themselves ready for the formation of state synods.

The Reverend Synod of Minnesota maintains the resolution of the previous year, namely that it recognizes the formation of independent state synods as a goal, but now does not yet consider the time for a union to have come. The Synod has further declared unanimously that it would take part in the establishment of a joint seminary, that it believes such a seminary should precede the formation of state synods, and that it has authorized its delegates, as a committee, to negotiate further with similar committees of other synods.

The Reverend Synod of Missouri, Ohio and Other States at its last delegate synod in St. Louis passed the following resolutions:

"Resolved, that the Delegate Synod of the General Synod of Missouri, Ohio and Other States heartily approves the proposal of the Synodical Conference for the formation of state synods and is ready to enter into it, provided that 1. the individual state synods the
