of the Ev. Luth. Synodical Conference of North America. 1928. 77
3. It is the wish of the Conference that the president of each of the individual synods, both as regards the Joint Synods [*Allgemeine Synoden*] and their districts, send in their reports to the presidents of the other synods, so that all may learn what is going on and being dealt with in the synods. (S.-K. 5 [1876], 54.)
V. Concerning the Duties of the Secretary.
1. The secretary is to notify the committees for the examination of the synodical reports of their task and at the same time to see to it that the reports are delivered to them. (S.-K. 12 [1888], 57.) . . .
4. The secretary is instructed to put in order the matter of any debts on the printing of the synodical reports, or rather to induce the presidents of the individual synods to give their treasurers instructions to send their respective share of the debt to the treasurer of the Synodical Conference. (S.-K. 8 [1879], 49.)
5. The needs of the Synodical Conference are to be defrayed pro rata, distributed among the synods belonging to the Synodical Conference in proportion to their number of members, by which they are entitled to send delegates to the Conference. The secretary is to calculate how much falls to each synod and to notify the presidents concerned. (S.-K. 2 [1873], 30. 31; 8 [1879], 49; 9 [1882], 103.)
6. At least six weeks before the convention of the Synodical Conference the secretary is to announce it in the church papers concerned and to remind them that every credential of the delegates must be signed by the president and by the secretary of the synod or district concerned, and that one copy each of these credentials is to be sent to the president and to the secretary of the Synodical Conference as well as to the pastor in whose congregation the convention is to meet. (S.-K. 3 [1874], 47; 20 [1904], 76; 28 [1922], 50.)
VI. Concerning the Treasury of the Negro Mission.
The President is always to appoint a committee which, before each convention of the Synodical Conference, shall audit the account books of the Negro Mission on the spot. (S.-K. 10 [1884], 89.)
VII. Concerning Standing Rules.
The standing rules of the Synodical Conference are to be printed each time on the inside of the cover of the reports of the Synodical Conference. (S.-K. 15 [1894], 79.)
