The Evangelical Lutheran Synodical Conference of North America

Kreuzkirche [Church of the Cross] (Pastor Paul E. F. Rohlfing) at Omaha, Nebr.

At the opening service on Wednesday morning Dr. F. Pfotenhauer,
President of the Missouri Synod, preached on the first petition of the
Holy Lord's Prayer. At the morning service on Sunday Pastor Hermann
Gieschen of Wauwatosa, Wis., preached in German on Gen. 32:24-30, and
Pastor Theo. Schurdel of Cleveland, O., preached in English on Rev.

of the Wisconsin Synod, preached on the Great Commission, Mark 16:15.
Pastor John W. Fuller of the Negro Mission [Negermission] gave a mission address in
English. The closing service planned for Monday evening was, this time,
by resolution of the convention combined with the Sunday morning service.

Four afternoon sessions were held, on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and
Monday, from 2 to 4:30, and four morning sessions, on Thursday, Friday,
Saturday and Monday, from 9 to a quarter to 12 [literally, "a quarter before 12"].
Pastor Paul Rohlfing served as chaplain in the first session, Pastor O. Kaiser
(English) in the remaining afternoon sessions, and Pastor C. C. Kössel (German)
in the morning sessions.

Two hours of each morning session and one hour of each afternoon
session were devoted to the doctrinal discussions, in which Prof.
W. Arndt of Concordia Seminary at St. Louis was the essayist.

The chairman, Dr. L. Fürbringer, declared the convention organized when,
