72 Proceedings of the thirty-first convention

[Printed in English: the heading.]
World Conference of Faith and Order.

From the secretariat of the World Conference of Faith and Order an invitation had been extended to the *Synodalkonferenz* [Synodical Conference] to take part in its work. A committee consisting of Pastors Geo. Schröder, W. J. Kowert and G. J. Wegener as well as Messrs. Ernst W. Martens and J. P. Feth recommended that the President of the Synodical Conference answer the letter.

Examination of the Synodical Reports.

The committees appointed to examine the synodical reports all reported that they had found nothing in the doctrinal proceedings sent to them that contradicts the Word of God and the Lutheran Confessions. A number of synodical reports contained no doctrinal proceedings, and quite a number of districts had sent in no report. In the alphabetical order of the synodical reports the committees were as follows:

Missouri Synod: General: The report contained no doctrinal proceedings. Pastors P. J. Bergmann, P. Pieper. — Districts: Alberta and British Columbia: No report. — Atlantic: No report. — Brazilian: No report. — California and Nevada: No report. — Colorado: Pastors J. Witt, M. E. Mayer. — English: No report. — Iowa: No report. — Kansas: Pastors Theo. Volkert, A. Loßner. — Manitoba and Saskatchewan: No report. — Michigan: Pastors Chr. Anderson, Paul C. Dowidat. — Minnesota: Pastors A. Fröhlke, J. L. Kaspar. — Middle: Pastors A. F. Westendorf, Aug. F. Bernthal. — North Dakota and Manitoba: Pastors K. F. Rutzen, Paul Budach. — Northern Illinois: Pastors S. C. Ylvisaker, Ph. D., F. E. Stern. — Northern Nebraska: Pastor H. F. Zapf. — Northern Wisconsin: No report. — Oklahoma: No report. — Ontario: No report. — Oregon and Washington: No report. — Eastern: Pastors K. Machmiller, Paul Hensel. — South Dakota: No report. — Southern Illinois: No report. — Southern: No report. — Southern Nebraska: Pastors E. B. Schlüter, M. J. Nommensen. — Southern Wisconsin: Pastors M. Lehninger, J. F. Gerken. — Texas: Pastors W. J. Schulze, M. F. Abraham. — Western: No report. — Central Illinois: No report.

Wisconsin Synod: General: Pastors L. J. Sieck, A. F. Behnke. — Dakota-Montana: The report contained no doctrinal proceedings: Pastors J. Schinnerer, E. F. Manske. — Michigan: Pastors F. H. Kretzschmar, W. List. — Minnesota: Pastors Th. F. Walther, Alfred Dörffler. — Nebraska: Pastors W. Grother, E. F. Schüler. — Northern Wisconsin: The report contained no doctrinal proceedings. Pastors T. H. Schrödel, J. S. Ontko. — Pacific-Northwest: The report contained no doctrinal proceedings: Pastors F. Luley, Harry E. Olsen. — Southeast Wisconsin: The report contained no doctrinal proceedings: Pastors M. Walker, F. T. Ruhland. — West Wisconsin: The report contained no doctrinal proceedings: Pastors J. W. Behnken, K. G. Manz.

Norwegian Synod: Pastors Fr. Sievers, H. J. Storm.

Slovak Synod: Pastors S. Martell, Theo. Engel.

The Synodical Conference calls attention to the fundamental provision of its constitution, which prescribes, for the preservation of unity of faith, that all doctrinal proceedings of the synodical conventions shall be submitted for examination. Three copies of each report should be sent in good time to the secretary of the Synodical Conference: two for the examining committee and one for the archive.
